I'll admit it... I’m a big dreamer and if I had to guess, you probably are too.
I remember when I was younger I would daydream so much.... most the time about completely unrealistic things. I mean honestly...I'm never going to be in a band or on Broadway because let's face it... the musical gene skipped me.
We all have dreams....some big, some small but unfortunately, most of us over time start to believe that we can't make them come true...even though many times they are within our reach.
I want to remind you that most of your dreams are not beyond your reach. They might seem big now, but if there is a goal that you can't stop thinking about, then it's probably something worth looking into.
2 simple steps towards reaching your goals:
1) Reverse Engineer
Dreams & goals can seem out of reach when you have no guidance to get there. It's kind of like taking a vacation with no map or plans... You know where you want to end up but have no idea how to get there.
To make it a little less overwhelming start with the destination and work your way back to where you need to start.
Start jotting down all the things you can think of that you would need to do to reach your goal.
2) One step at a time
Breakdown everything into small manageable steps and then here comes the hard part......
take each action one step at a time and start moving forward.
This is the hard part because this is where the dreaming ends and the action begins. To reach your goals, you have to put in the hard work...otherwise you stay right where you are.
So let's say one of your goals is to go on a cruise...
At first glance that's a big goal... and you're right, it is... so let's break it down a bit.
You decide where you want to go.
You do some research to find out what all you want to do.
You figure out the cost for everything!... and I mean everything!
Once you have the total cost, you make a budget.
You figure out how much you need to save per month and how long it will take you to reach the total amount.
Once you save, save, save..... you book the cruise and make your dream a reality.
Now, of course, all of that sounds easy enough, but to do all of it, it's hard work. But, it's worth it!!!
The more you start going for your dreams and goals, the more you will realize that they are within your reach.
So let me encourage to bring back a little bit of that daydreamer....
DO YOUR RESEARCH.
BREAK IT DOWN.
