I feel like as parents we are always second guessing ourselves.
"I'm I doing enough?"
"I'm I teaching them well?"
"I'm I going to raise them to be good people."
There are normally constant questions on what and how we are doing as parents.
Let’s all be super honest here for a minute……
it’s not always relaxing having little ones in the house. Of course little kiddos are a huge blessing, but not all blessings are easy…. or calm……. or quiet.
Even the most relaxing of people can get more stressed with little humans running around and not listening.
So if you are a fellow Mama Bear and you are needing a little bit of advice or encouragement to get through the day…
I get asked a good bit for advice about kids and starting a family…. and one of the most common questions I get is
“How do you know that you are ready for kids?”
Here’s the thing…. no one is ever fully ready to have children.
But there are a few things that I always tell people that they should consider when thinking about starting a family.......
The more that I learn about photography, the more I realize that this art really does imitate life.
There are so many lessons I have learned through photography that has helped me to be a better parent.
It’s about not stressing over messes or imperfections.
Looking at the situation differently can totally change your perspective.
It’s not about being “perfect” and having the “picture perfect” life or moments….it’s about catching moments and capturing those memories.
Sometimes you have to let go of control because you can’t control everything (even though you want to).
But one of the most important things you can do is take time to see the beauty around you. It will help you see what is truly beautiful about the moment and what means the most.
As part of Aaron's father's day gift I surprised him with new pictures of Lacey. Last year I surprised him with pictures of me and Lacey, taken by the lovely and talented Myrna Loy Photography. This year I took her pictures....if left my proud and a little sad. Where has the time gone?!
