Embracing Slower living

We live in some crazy, fast pace times. But with everything going on right now, our always-on-the-go society is being asked to slow down and stay in as much as possible. Now for me, this is not a big deal.... Unless I'm traveling, I love being at home and taking it easy, but for others, slowing down is a struggle.

I know that when our daily routine suddenly changes, it seems to throw everything else off, and no one likes that feeling. Changes like this can be hard for some on top of an already stressful time, but I hope that in the middle of this chaotic time, you can find joy in the simple things.

The mindset of Slower living:

Slower, simple living doesn't mean boring. Try not to think of this as a bad thing... think of it more as a time to slow down and enjoy what we have right in front of us.

Staying in more doesn't mean that you stop living a wonderful, joy-filled life; it just gives you more of a chance to take time for the more meaningful things in life.

I realize that this is way easier for an introvert like me to say, but trust me, there is beauty when you start to embrace slower living.

Here are some ideas to fill your days in a simple way:

  •  take a walk

  • call a friend or family member

  • work on a project

  • find a new hobby

  • read a book

  • play a board game

  • declutter your home

  • have a candlelit dinner

  • go on a hike

  • have a family picnic

  • read with your kids

  • listen to your favorite music

  • watch your favorite show

  • get a workout in

  • think about & write down new goals

  • take an afternoon nap

  • sit outside with a cup of coffee or tea

I know this is a crazy time right now, but I hope you can find joy in the simple things right now.

Find peace in the slower pace and beauty in the simple things.
